Hey, I'm Lou, the Founder of JIIVA xx

I’m a working, single parent of three children, trying to juggle life, work, home, exercise, the school run, the soccer mum duties, the damn washing pile that never ends, the lawn mowing, the school volunteering, and oh wait…during all of that I try not lose my sh!t like a crazy banshee in the supermarket when I leave my shopping bags in the car!

I’ve been practicing yoga for 18 years and gained my yoga teacher certification in 2010 but didn’t really delve into meditation or healing until my world completely changed around me. In the past 4 years I’ve been through the breakdown of a 21 year relationship; become a single-parent of 3 childen 3.5 years apart; left a 15 year career; re-discovered my sexuality; experienced domestic violence, anxiety, PTSD, OCD and depression; and cared for a loved one with mental illness.

It’s through these lived experiences that I’ve developed techniques to keep my sh!t together, not 100% of the time (I’m not a Saint!), but enough to make my way through an intense time of darkness and healing and come out the other side.
