What is it? 

Tantric Yoga is the practice of weaving together many forms of physical, spiritual and emotional practices, to become in tune with your self and deepen your relationship with the universe. It is incorrectly quoted in the modern West as being a solely sexual practice but is far more than that.

What does it mean? 

In Sanskrit, Tantra literally means “loom, warp, weave”.

Who founded it? 

Tantra has foundations as with most classic forms of yoga, in the Sutras of Patanjali. It is a spiritual practice which entwines ancient vedic and yogic practices.

How did it evolve?

Tantra is an deeply evolved practice stemming from traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. It is a path which is often challenging to decipher due to its combination of different religions, texts, ideologies and practices. It is not one coherent practice but over time it has evolved from many different ideologies.

What is a class like?

The practice of Tantric Yoga class can be a dynamic class, vinyasa in style with a flowing motion of breath and movement. When practised with a partner it deepens the connection between the two, and is often described as a moving meditation.
